11 "Prom Planning" Hayden

Now that I have everything done I can finally sit back and relax, and wait for prom to arrive! With me being an extreme planner, it is very satisfying to have accomplished such a big and tedious task. I know for most people this isn’t a big deal, but for me it is because for big events like prom I like to have everything set and ready to go, so I don’t have to worry about much else.

Image result for promThis weekend I made some serious progress with untangling the whole mess surrounding getting ready for prom. So far, I have found my dress, and set up all my appointments. Those appointments include hair, nails, and makeup. The only thing I have left to do is buy my heels to go with my dress, which shouldn’t be hard because I already have them picked out.

My mom helped a lot through the whole process, she is so organized. I couldn’t ask for a better mother to talk with and go shopping with. Without her I wouldn’t have gotten anything done as fast as I did, nor would I have been so calm and stress-free while doing it all.

Does anyone else feel this way about events or planning in general? If so, why?

  1. Yes! Sometimes it can be super stressful, especially when there's so much to think about and so many appointments to make. However, I do feel a lot better about event planning thanks to being on Junior Executive Council. After planning an event for 600 people, planning a wedding is starting to sound easy!

  2. I am often stressed about very small things. Prom is a big thing that I am stressed about. Not even the planning part of the event although that is stressful too. For my personal prom plans, everything is a mess and I have given up. Sometimes my mom is helpful to talk to, but sometimes she just makes it worse for me. When I get stressed about one thing, everything becomes stressful to me. It is a downward spiral to me.

  3. Yes I feel the same way with events like this. My problem is that I am a HUGE procrastinator. SO currently I know I need to find heels and schedule my appointments, but I just put it off. Of course this leads to me being even more stressed out when I don't have everything ready to go. Thankfully prom is still a while away so I can continue to procrastinate a little more...

  4. To be totally real with everyone, I am so much more of a "wing it" kind of person. Sure I like structure, but I tend to just get overly stressed about planning. Either way, prom wasn't too complex for me. My table fell into my lap and it ended up being perfect. I just need to get a hold of a suit of some kind, and all will be ready to go.
